89 f-150 with a 352. i put the a/c lever in max, motor running, put jumper wire on low pressure switch. fuse is good but the clutch will not go on. the face of the clutch did have a braied wire connecting two spots but that is gone now. any suggestions. thanks Gary

You unplugged the connector at the low pressure cycling switch and jumped the two wires on the connector?
Braided wire connecting two spots but that is gone now. Was that the
diode placed across the two clutch coil wires?
One wire at the clutch coil should have 12 volts the Black wire should be ground.
If you have 12 volts going to the clutch coil and it doesn't engage, measure the resistance of the
clutch coil winding. Should be a couple of ohms. If infinite resistance the coil winding is bad.

the braded wire went from one rivit on the clutch to another spot on the clutch.

no, i jumped the two pins on the low pressure switch.. i guess i will get a new clutch that has the braded wire on it. thanks

You need to unplug the connector and jump the two pins on the connector which completes the electrical circuit
to allow 12 volts to get to the clutch coil.
