Clutch Interlock

1992 F150 5 Speed

To start my truck, it’s like I have to push the clutch peddle thru the firewall to be able to get the starter to turn over. Any thoughts on what the problem may be and how to correct?

Clutch Interlock

Check for a switch on the clutch pedal (or is actuated by the clutch pedal) that looks like a brake light switch. It should be adjustable by pushing it in or out.

It's probably the tubular style that wraps around the clutch master cylinder pushrod above the gas pedal. The Haynes manual shows how to adjust it.

Yes it is the tubular style that wraps around the pushrod. I'll see if I can find a Haynes manual to look this up.

Clutch Interlock

Could not find a Haynes manual but I did look at the Ford manual I have on CD and it does not have any adjustment procedures. I also took the pushrod off so I could get a better look at the switch and the set up and did not see anything that would allow for adjustments. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
