what i have is 2 1948 and 1 1949 F-2 trucks. i would like to get one restored out of the three for parades. the last person i know who overhauls the flathead V8's passed away a year ago. does anyone out there have any contacts who still know these engines or parts suppliers?
If you are looking for someone to do the work, I'd suggest looking in the phonebook for engine rebuilders or auto restoration businesses. Also find out about old car and truck clubs in the area and attend a few meetings -- the members would probably have suggestions about businesses and some of them might even tackle it for a modest fee.
If you're gonna try it yourself and just need advice or a guiding hand, the clubs would also work. And of course here!
***Cough, Carl, Cough*** Carl(a.k.a 286merc) knows these motors very well and he builds them for customers. He could definetly help you out. He'll be around sometime to check on the board, he'll see flathead and click here. Good luck, -4speed
