2004 F250 SD. (and yes I have had my turbo failures). When engaging air conditioning there is a high pitch squeal from the engine vicinity of belt pulleys. Squeal will cease after 20-30 seconds. When wheels are cranked to the stops, squeal is changed in tone. My small town technicians initially thought it to be grit under belt but it persists. What is the likely mechanical issue here? Brand new to this forum, thanks in advance for all advice. Ron
only two possibilities in my simple mind...
either the belt itself is glazed/loose/old
or one of the accessory pulley assemblies...
sounds like simple troubleshooting to me... and I r not a make-a-nick
is it one serpentine belt ?or multiples ?
if multiples, take one out the equation for a minute to see if it's the other to narrow down the area to research.
good luck !
