Squeaky belt

I had a belt in my 1990 150 that had a little squeak. I used some CRC belt conditioner and left overnight. When I started up AM it was worse than ever. It sounded like every belt was SCREAMING!!!!!!!!!!!

What could have happened??????????

I never had any luck with belt conditioner. I got the same results as you. I would just get a new belt and clean the pulleys before putting the new belt on.

If the belt tensioner is old......a new belt that is 1/2 to 1 inch shorter should do the trick.....I've had different brand belts by application load up the spring on the tensioner at different spots....

Every time that I have used the belt conditioner it has always made it worse. Always have to get a new belt.

Check you pulley on your tensioner. It should move freely and not feel rough when turning it. If it is about to go it eats belts for breakfast and causes squeaks.

Welcome to the forum........I always had to spray a LOT of that stuff on while the motor was running to quiet belts down and often had a worse sound after it sat for a while too. Usually found a bad pully/idler or simply replaced the belt......some don't last a long time....
Goodyear Gatorbacks seem to be the belt of choice on here.
