I need a new pair of front coil springs to replace two cracked units that I found when I went to replace shocks.
I went to Advance to see what is available and found I can get either variable rate coils or constant rate coils. I am pretty sure the springs that came off the truck were constant rate coils. What would you guys recommend for a 79 that runs without a sway bar?
Personally I like the variable rate. The rate increases as the spring is compressed. Constant rate springs have the same rate regardless of how much they are compressed.
The variable rate springs give a better ride when the road is relatively smooth or only slightly bumpy.
