Don't forget the acronym that describes newbies:

FNG = Friggin' new guy

That way they'll know when we're talking about them. It's only fair.

Just kidding newbies, WTFTE = Welcome to Ford Truck Enthusiasts

LOL olford! I fully embrace my FNG status with zest! Half the fun of a new rig is not knowing what the heck to do, which forces you to LEARN!
I was perusing some threads and came up with some more WTF acronyms I have no idea the definition:
TCM, PCM, MLPS, TECA, PSD, WOT at IP.

So, OMG, IDK WTF is going on. Help ASAP B4 I ROFLMAO or give up and cry.
Oh yeah, the PO of my IDI F350 was mentally AWOL and FUBAR'd the GP's by installing non-ZD's. I broke one tip off in #1 but thankfully had it at TDC so after some !#**!£$! I was able to remove the piece, so at least it didn't wind up DOA!
Ok, I'm officially acronym'd out...

T19 - Borg-Warner 4-speed manual in the '83-'86 trucks
MOPAR - Mostly Old Parts And Rust
SATURN - Sorry About That Unstoppable Rattling Noise
RTFM - Read the .... er .... Factory .... Manual

TCM - Transmission Control Module - on IDIs with the E4OD. IDI engine has no electronic control, but the E4OD requires an electronic controller. Thus the TCM
PCM - Powertrain Control Module - controls both the engine and transmission - applies to PSDs
MLPS - Manual Lever Position Switch (or Sensor) - aka TRS (trans range sensor), NSS (neutral safety switch). Mounted on the automatic transmission. Controls the reverse lights and the wire to the starter relay, and signals the TCM/PCM as to what gear the driver has selected.
PSD - Powerstroke Diesel
WOT - Wide open throttle (generic term, slightly mis-applied, since diesels don't have throttles)
IP - Injection Pump - IDI only

Cool, you incorporated a British Pound symbol in your "Beetle Bailey cursing" ^^^^^ ....

Worse case for most abbreviations you can google them and generally get the correct answer.

not really. take for example this style forum, anything less than four characters doesn't work in a search. So if you tried searching for IDI, it would say no results. Google is better, but most of our esoteric IDI acronyms aren't very popular.
