I am not sure if this is just a coincidence, but, my 56 F100 6 cylinder was running great until I filled the gas tank. Now it stalls out. I cleaned the carb, adjusted the idle and mixture screws, and if the choke is out the truck won't stall. I figure that this must be a gas or fuel system related problem. Any suggestions?
Check fuel flow rate. Disconnect fuel line from carb, hold so it will pump fuel into a jar, ignition off, crank vehicle.

Assuming that your fuel system is truly clean (suggest that you remove the top of the carb and check the float bowl) and assuming that you don't have an ignition problem - one thing that people miss is the gas cap. For our years of trucks it must be vented. If it is not you get a vacuum buildup in the tank as you use fuel which the fuel pump cannot overcome. It happens more frequently with a full tank than with a tank that is partially full due to the volume of air vs liquid.
Thanks Pete. Vapor lock is one of the possibilities, but never had the problem before this new tank of gas, and, it stalls out before it's even heated up, so I would imagine, that would eliminate a gas cap problem.
Are you running a Holley 1904 or ??? I had a similar issue on my 1904 and it wasn't filling the bowl properly. If you have a 1904, does it have a glass bowl? Is the fuel pump properly working?
My guess would be during the filling process you picked up crap from either the station tank or your tank and now have a plugged fuel supply line (clogged filter) causing a lean condition. You said said you cleaned the carb so I will assume that is good, which would leave the filter or pump.
