I am assuming that the factory coil springs on F-100s were just plain ol constant rate springs. ( mine seem to be anyway) So I was wondering about putting heavy duty progressive rate springs in their place. I think that would help with bottoming and may even give the front end a little bit of a boost.
Progressive (hate that word) rate springs are designed to give you a softer ride while bouncing on their upper and wound closer coils. Then a stronger ride once the suspension compresses the upper coils and gets in to the lower, stronger, and wound farther apart lower coils. They will prolly fix a bottoming out problem but only because your original springs are prolly weak now.
