Been 16 years for me. I kept most all of my stuff and got custody of my son.
not really interested in doing the marriage thing again.

Seen on a bumper sticker: I still miss my ex wife.....but my aim is improving!!!

You know why divorce is so expensive? Because it is worth it.

don't plan to! BTW, I'm free in my own right, my child support payments are done, or at least I should say, the payments. The support will always be there.

I've known guys who have married 3-4 times, hell, I even know a guy who married wife #1, divorced and married wife #2, divorced remarried wife #1, divorced married wife #1's sister!!

I once worked with a guy who had been married a couple of times, to different women. He had the perfect analogy to remarrying an ex. He said it's like finding the carton of milk in the refrigerator is sour and putting back in and going back the next day thinking it became unsour.

For me I've been married to the same girl for over 26 years. As I tell her, "You've been married to me now for over 26 years, it's been 26 loooonnnngggg years for me!" Like someone here on the board has in their signature, if we divorced she'd have to take half of my stuff and she doesn't want any of it.

It is good to get out of a bad marriage, I hope you do well without her! I have had one of each, the first being good at first and slowly turned into crazy. 5 years in divorce court and I finally got custody and the house. Turns out the judge thought she was as crazy as I did. I only fought it because I knew that our 5 year old daughter would have suffered with her crazy mom. My daughter is now 25 and doing great, and I am married again to a great one! She supports all my hobbies including 3 "projects" even though only one is almost running and driving.

The woman of my dreams now is a fantastic chef who will come once a week and bring a weeks worth of fully cooked meals ready for the freezer and spend the rest of the day cleaning the house - For full compensation
I will still reserve the right to look, anytime anywhere (Especially at Redheads)

Well guys I hate to be the black sheep in this group but I have never been married and never wanted to. I always felt sorry for the ones that tried only have their family split up later. This will all change this year when i will marry a woman with 2 boys that just idealize me. My motto is if your going to spend the rest of your life with a woman make it the one that smiles all the time

If only it worked like that. My one bit of wisdom I tell a soon to be groom is, "Whatever she finds cute and funny now will become embarrassing and annoying after the ring goes on". Almost everyone I have told this to didn't believe me but later on came and told me I was right.

However, with patience and understanding on BOTH PARTS, it is possible for two humans to form a symbiotic (mutually beneficial) relationship with one another. Just don't forget: you are both human. There will be an ebb and flow.

As long as one part isn't trying to see how many notches she can put on her gun stock, stealing your money and trying to lie her way out of jail for numerous reasons
We may be both human, I however have some morals
