Hello from Ctrl Fla
Hi, I'm Kevin. I have a diesel mercedes that started acting up awhile back so decided to buy a 1997 Ford 7.3 L PSD E-350 camper van as back-up just to be safe because I thought it 'd make for a nice bugout machine during zombie times + I needed a tow vehicle. (I towed a little boat around w/ Mercedes & I think that's what mighta made it start acting up, transmission trouble) Van has a custom installed canvas pop-top w/ zip-out windows & screens like a Quigley or Sportsmobile w/ twin bed built into roof shell & collapsible crank-driven awning on side... Mileage is 137, 400. It cranks & starts in about 10-15 seconds with fully charged batteries & runs like a 7.3L PS TD should. Exhaust clean w/ no black or white smoke at any RPM from what I've seen thus far. Oil on dipstick is remarkably clean as well. This vehicle was meticulously maintained by previous owner & I feel very fortunate to have acquired it for price I did.
Well anyways, Now that I got my MB back running reliably as a daily driver, I've got van under covered shelter where I can teardown & build it up & plenty of space & time for tinkering so decided to join this site for R&D & get good ideas while I accumulate essential tools. I won an ebay auction for a NGS Rotunda 007-00500 Tester w/ 4 cards & bunch of DLC cables. I will probably be posting many questions about how to get it communicating optimally for my van in near future. Let's see, so Van has E4OD tranny & Dana 70 rear differential & is stock other than poptop customization. That's my story, thanks for letting me in!
This site will be a great resource for you - enjoy!Torklift Sheryl
