I am going to buy a new Ford conversion van but I can not get any info on this type of Auto. No pricing online, no reviews and no info on different conversion operations. I think I am going to go with American van conversion and maybe send the van to Quigley for 4x4 conversion. Is there anybody with any info, thoughts, recommendations...anything??
I have a '94 Mark III 4.9 conversion van. I really like it, and it's put together well.
Go to [a href="http://www.dogpile.com"]Dogpile[/a] and type in "conversion vans". A bunch of manufacturers should come up and then you can start your homework.
I wanted a used one because the price of a new one was way above my limits, plus the depreciation the first year is unbelieveable.

Thanks for the info. I was going to buy used but I was a little weary. Who would go to the trouble of buying this type of van and unload it in a year or so? Do you like the van. Is it a good ride? Would you buy again? Or would you just buy the 15 passenger van for the additional room. I have 5 kids? I guess I am looking for some feed back before I drop 35K on a 2001 left over.
loucan - I looked for about 3 months before I found my van, as I was in no hurry. I looked at an advertised Ford van at a Chevy dealer but it was the short wheelbase model. Just so happened, the salesman I was talking to had a nice '94 Mark III E-150 he traded in because his kids were off to college and his wife wanted a smaller vehicle.
I love this van. I've been to Florida from MD and it drives great. Like a luxury car, but sits higher. No squeaks or rattles. You can get up and walk around to an extent, or sit in the rear reclining Captain's chair and watch TV while someone else drives.
With the five young 'uns, you may be better off with a Club Wagon unless you want the fold down bed, TV and all the goodies that a conversion van offers. Of course the final decision is determined by your needs.
There are a lot of reasons people get rid of newer vehicles, including it being somewhat of a lemon. Just check it out carefully and get a warranty.
