If it is sock (Ford 10.5), it is a clutch driven limited slip diff. On my 06 it was an un-limited slip. Most people didn't like the performance of the stock unit.
Someone could have replaced it with a Detroit locker, etc. I replaced mine with a Detroit trutrac this spring. Big improvement (it works) to the stock unit.
I don't think the E-lockers were available until 2010 or so.
