Heater hoses

So last year I threw in a new rad, upper lower hoses, & thermostat. But I didn't do the heater hoses. I should have inspected them more closely as both are wearing through from rubbing.

The other reason I didn't do them is that the one has a factory crimped in "t" where it splits off to the by pass hose/tube that connects below the rad cap.

Question is, where can I get those two hoses? Part #'s? No one seems to list them. Is this a dealership only item?

Ok so ford parts shows a water bypass tube part # 8555... I take it this is the rubber/steel line that goes from the heater hose over top of the rad? it is $44. Then it lists a bypass HOSE which is the short little one wedged between the water pump

Still doesn't show the heater hose that it connects to with the "T" that I need....

The parts stores sell a heater hose 'TEE' in several sizes.

The heater hose is bought by the foot at the store.

The one on my 90 is seeping and I can't find an original one either. I think I'll make one when winter comes and I get some time.

Heater Hose part #

I just replaced my heater hoses and ran into the same problem. The factory hose with crimped ends at T are no longer available. They now call for using bulk 5/8" heater hose and the T. This T is for the hose that runs from heater core to water pump. They do sell a plastic ones at Auto Zone/O Reilly's. It is made by Dorman and is packaged in the red HELP packages. I was not comfortable with a plastic one. I ordered the factory one from dealer to see what it was made of. It is metal!! I was stoked to find this out!

Ford Part #: 389344-S100

$12.00 and it took my dealer one day to get it.

BTW, the T is 5/8" X 3/8" X 5/8"

Hope this helps

That helps a lot! Thanks! I'd like to keep it as close to stock as possible.

What about the hose that comes off the T and goes to the top of the rad, is that available???

That one was not available. It calls for bulk hose the entire length. I believe the metal tube portion, which runs along radiator, is metal so as to be more durable in a high traffic, high heat area where there is also a hood latch and jack handle. When mine goes bad I will cut off pressed ends and use rubber hose with clamps for the end sections, keeping the metal tube running across the radiator. You might be able to find a Dorman metal tube replacement that will also work; heck they may even have a direct replacement!

Those crimp style hose clamps would look good at the tee. Would have a nice clean look and appear close to the factory look.

Crimp Type Hose Clamps
Not an endorsement of where to buy. Merely an illustration of what they look like.

If you do decide to use these, this is the style crimper you want. The other ones get the job done but don't do a consistently nice job like these do.

Good to know. The metal tube on mine looks pretty crusty on the outside, but so long as the inside is clean/ rust free, I might do the same...
