Useless and your truck will never get to operating temp.
Enjoy the stumbles and the condensation in your oil.
Jim - Surely you aren't suggesting that the highly-paid engineers at Ford knew what they were doing when they designed the cooling system?? That's not what Sean wants to hear. Otherwise he would have believed the other two guys that told him the same thing on his other thread and wouldn't have asked it again here.
I rep'd the other guy but the promiscuity hasn't kicked in yet so I can't rep you.

I'm just updating my threads...no offense intended...I should have known the same few guys are reading both threads LOL
We troll all the threads trying to help people. Jim spends an inordinate amount of time on here and I'd be happy to just know what he's forgotten. There are only a few on here that really know their stuff and he's one of them.
I installed a Motorcraft 192* thermostat in my truck, and it works much better than the Motorad parts store 180* thermostat I had in there. My temp has never gotten above 195* with the Motorcraft thermostat and it actually gets up to operating temp now. The Motorad I had would never even get to 180*. Piece of junk. I don't know what brand my radiator is, Sean. But it's got a Performance radiator, cap on it so I assume it came from those guys. Looks just like a parts store aluminum radiator though.
I bought a Murray High-Flow at Oreilly's (160 though) :/
Mine actually runs better with the 192* thermostat than the 180. The 180 I had was a low one, it acted more like a 160* stat. Only reason I got the 192* is because I wanted a good thermostat and the Motorcraft was the only good one I could find. I find it funny, most of the time if I'm at 192* and come to a stop it'll actually cool down rather than heat up.
America is just full of crap parts nowadays. What a damn shame.
Yes it is, sadly. I did some good research for a good thermostat and the Motorcraft RT1139 is the best one I could find. Cost me $13 though but it's a USA part and works perfectly.
