Our Moderators need to look at the idea that all NEW members HAVE to have a SIGNATURE with the year, style, and engine size, along with other types of mods that have been done, so that those trying to help don't have to ask all this BEFORE getting to the problem.. I notice this (though I haven't been on here for awhile), as I scroll through the threads. I THINK ITS A BENEFIT TO ALL WHO HELP AS WELL AS THOSE WHO JUST READ THE THREADS!! My 2 pennys...
I guess we'll just ignore this thread-no discussion at all!! What do all of you think of this idea-c'mon, especially those who been on here for some time now, and answer most, if not all threads when someone asks for help, what's the first thing you have to ask, especially when its a new member-what is it and what engine does it have?? Its not like we're asking to sign away their dignity, just a good practice, and they can have pride in their vehicles. I add the mileage of my vehicles to my signature, and from time to time I do an update. I'm proud that I have a '99 and the rest of the members can see what engine it has, and the mileage is a testament to the maintenance that I do, as well as the repairs needed from time to time. Hope to hear from more members!!
The owner/operators of the site seem to change things as they will. Used to was, there was a 'garage' thingy right below your name which was a place to list your vehicle(s). No more.
Used to was you could select which sub-forums were listed when you came to the site, such as skipping diesels altogether, which I did as I don't have one and wouldn't know a glow plug from a spark plug. No more.
So, asking people to list their vehicles ... might last, might go away the next time you show up.
I figure it people want free advice, it is up to them to provide pertinent information otherwise they are wasting their time. The posts that have no grammar, use no punctuation, and have a lot of shorthand words get little response from me as I have to try to interpret what they are trying to say. Too much work. I have better things to do than take time from my life because they didn't want to invest any of their own. Sorry, dude.
Judging from the reponse , I guess you can't fight city hall, or people just DON'T WANT to change anything...I'm done with this. If the Moderators could kindly pull this, it would be appreciated...
