Drivers side hinge needs to be swapped...ive heard it was like $14 at the ford dealership. Also if you want the lock function to work, you can just swap your key cylinder out of your old tailgate. It fits right into the new one
I was looking at a late-model tailgate with that step thing in it. I tried it on Stinky, and the tail lights didn't have the same profile as the tailgate. It wasn't a big deal, the tailgate would function - but that profile mismatch was a little funky. My canopy wouldn't work with the top lip, so that was the end of looking at a newer tailgate (with "Superduty" across the bottom).
If I do this, it will bug me until I upgrade the lights and rear bumper. But my tailgate now barely opens as it is, and I can't buy a new 2000 model tailgate for as cheap as this guy is selling his with a step and camera for.
I went down the street from my work to a place that installs truck bodies and plows and all that and they had probably 30 white 2013 tailgates on a pallet. $400 out the door with a bag of all the hardware/hinges
Well got the tailgate, and it's in great shape. Got the driver side hinge on the way home, so should be good to go. It was a 120 mile round trip to pick it up, but for 300 bucks with a step and camera it was worth it to me.
