Wheel Interchange

I've been seeing more and more takeoffs and tire specials in 17" for trucks these days. Are there any factory wheels from Ford or other brand trucks that are 17" that will fit the axles in my 95 PSD truck without major modification? I seem to remember the answer from a few years back being 'no' but I thought I'd check again.

and again, the answer is still no.
if you want 17 inch wheels, you will need to buy a set of very expensive aftermarket rims, and then put expensive tires on them.

stick with the 16's, you wallet will like you a lot more.

I'd be tempted even so. I've got a source at a number of dealers and they've got boatloads of new takeoff 17" truck tires. I can get sets for about $150 per 4 tires if I was inclined, that's why I'd asked.

Actually, TireRack has quite a number of 17" wheels for our trucks, starting around $200/per. Not exactly inexpensive, but not bad, especially if the OP can get good tires cheap.

About $200 will get you some alum adapters. I'm not recommending it. But if you are just burning the take offs for daily driving and removing them when you haul, it may make sense.

No factory 17" wheels will fit the 97 and older trucks. the offset, bolt pattern and hub hole are all different

wow. my reply made me sound like a real jerk. sorry, that was not how it was supposed to read.
4 new takeoff tires for $150 would make it almost worth the expense to buy a set of aftermarket rims.
but pay very close attention to the backspacing and rim width.
