Ok question...... I have tires and wheels off of my 1948 f-4 ...yes they are widow makers!....I have found 19.5 budd wheels for it.... however the tires on those widow makers are like new....is there any market for those 18" tires? Or do I just scrap everything?
Boy, I wish I could be more positive for you. There were 18" locking side ring wheels used on 1930s era trucks, and cars for that matter. Your 7.00" tires might find a home with one of those guys. GM also had an 18" wheel option in the early 1950s iirc. Aside from these more common uses there were 18" wheels used by M-H in special applications, but few of those trucks exist. I've been trying to fill DRW and/or SRW 18" locking side ring wheel sets for my M-Hs, but have a set of 7.50-18" traction tires in hand waiting to mount. I realize this isn't much help.
Edit - in my attempt to find 18" wheels I talked to American Wheel Specialist a year or more ago to see about having custom built ones made. I was told they have no source for new 18" outer rims. Stu
