Tire mounting Issue

Hey Guys,
Been reading here for a while, unfortunately lurking a bit and havnt ever posted here that much. That being said going to try and make this my regular stop. Have a quick question for you guys.

I just bought some 35x11.5R18 Toyo's, and have a 10 inch wide MT thompson rim to mount them to.
On the Toyo website, it says acceptable rim range is up to 9.5 for this tire, but I did some reading and didnt think it would be an issue (lots of guys run far more stretched setups than that). Dropped them off at the tire shop to have them mounted, and just got a call saying they cant get them to air up, that the rim is too wide (by 0.5 inches according to toyo specs). Any suggestions here? Im not sure what to do, never had this problem.

You can try the old ether trick, although it can get dangerous. We used to do it all the time to get tractor tires back on the rim.

cut 4-6 1X3 pieces of wood 13-14 inches long and stick them in the tires to spread the bead.
then let the tires sit in the sun for 4-5 hours to get nice and hot. this will relax the sidewall so you will be able to seat the bead.
