Silicone sealant
I am confused. I just had to replace a HPOP that was under a year old. The tech said it failed because silicone was used as a sealant. Supposedly it caused the seals an rings to pull apart. Now I see where Ford has a silicone sealant. Some here please explain all this.

Silicone is used at the T joints only on the pump cover, ta29 or ta 31 ( same stuff different tubes) silicone only. Grey silicone is formulated so it does not react to oil or cause unwanted oil foaming

Seems when installing my previous HPOP the tech used silicone on the o ring and the whole went down the tubes. They did honor the warranty on the pump. Of course I got stuck with the labor. Now I've got a new HPOP, ICP sensor, standpipes, dummy plugs, o rings and IPR.
