After watching some vids/reading some threads - I'm ready to remove the HPOP. However - I just came across this in the manual:
NOTE: Be sure to cut the silastic T- joint
that seals the high-pressure pump cover,
rear cover, and cylinder block together
prior to removing the high-pressure
pump cover.
How is it possible to do this with the cover still in place and the block still in the truck? Is there any risk to not cutting it? (tearing the rear cover gasket?)
It's just something like rtv sealant at the seam where the rear engine cover, the cylinder block and the HPOP cover met. The cover should come off with a little gentle prying. Just be sure that when you put it back on you clean the seam off and reapply some rtv sealant to it.
