This is called a BUCK TAG and it is used by assembly plant workers.
The above info tells ME it is a 79 4x4 FE8954 Is the consecutive build number with an 8ft box.
The Body colour (4) Candy Apple Red and box description (T) styleside.

Is there somewhere this info is listed? I see these types of posts all the time and it seems it must be a bother to you to have to always answer the same questions.
Do the other numbers and letters have significance?

I can't EXACTLY say what some are but in there is the Rear axle code, Front axle code,transmission code,Assembly Plant code,Cab code.
No books on this stuff as it was assembly plant info.
You would need the plant code book or talk to a former line employee.
I think ROT6474 might be the line Rotation code.

Well while we are at it Dennis let me throw mine at ya also.

I figured this much I says its a 74 f100 4x2 pickup with a 302 2bbl made at the norfolk assembly plant. It has 133 inch wheel base but I cant figure out what color the x represents.

That would make sense. I had looked at a chip chart and it was a toss up between grabber blue and light blue. The chart I looked at didnt have Light Grabber Blue on it.
