cleaning CDR valve

Hi, I have a 1985 F350 6.9. Does anyone have any suggestions on cleaning the CDR valve?
Thanks, Ricky

get a brand new one and install the on the truck. they are cheap and its 2 bolts. soak the old one in mineral spirits (kerosene, fuel, etc.) and put that one back on every other oil change. This way they stay clean, and you have one on hand.

cleaning CDR valve

Howdy,

This is probably a dumb question but what is a CDR valve??
I know where it's located on the engine, I just don't know what it is.

Thanks,
Gr8ride

The cdr valve works like a pcv valve to evacuate crankcase pressure. It is located just behind the air inlet (where a carburetor would be on a gas engine) held on by two bolts.
