How hard is it to take a Borg Warner 13-56 TC off an 88 f-250 w/ a c6...and reinstall another 13-56? If a TC has been sitting w/ plenty of fluid does it's condition get bad? My dad is going to sell his truck soon, we've had it since 92 and the TC has been used probably a total of 100 miles over those years. I am trying to get the same TC for my 4x4 conversion on my 95 f-150. If i bought a TC that i duno the condition of for a decent price, could i easily put it in the 88 to sell and take the one i've had for years? Is it worth the trouble for a TC out of my dad's thats almost never been used?

the BW1356 is a strong tcase but that depends on how hard your going to wheel your truck. im swapping my 1356 out for a 208 or a 205. two of the strongest tcases you can buy. if you want i could sell you my 1356 for really cheap, it slips outa 4hi and 4lo. but that all depends on when i get the other tcase.
it normally stays in 4lo pretty good, the only time it ever slips out is when you give it a lot of pressure, it doesnt ever really do it on certain times, last time i did it i was climbing a short but steep hill and it just popped out and i rolled right back down, i put it right back in 4lo and went on up the hill without any problem. it just randomly slips out of 4hi so i dont ever really use it anymore, i just use 2wd or 4lo.
Anyone know how hard it would be to have a TC shipped? Any takers on my other questions?
Mr. Peel, that must be a pain to have it keep shifting out of 4hi. My dad's TC has barely been used, i was under it today looking around and had the thought of maybe putting his in my truck, and getting a somewhat decent but used 13-56 and put it in the truck we're selling. Thats if its worth the extra work though, i duno how hard it is to remove and install a TC on a c6.
