Long Tow short report.

The tow was a 10k travel trailer hooked to a 2012 Super Duty . Tow was in CA, UT, WY, MT, AZ, OR, ID and NV worst grade was 9. Truck did better then expended on the long run, it really likes to work hard, Regen was ever 600 miles Lowest soot level from the edge insight was .83. The worst fuel was in UT, bio diesel at 20 percent. Towing Mileage averaged between 9.9 and 14. Best non towing was 22. All MPG are from the computer, but seem right.

The only problem with the truck was a tire pressure error. I will take it to the dealer when I have time. I hate that system, I know it helps some people, but I check my tires with pressure gauge. Wish I could turn it off.

I had problems with my TPMS all last summer and only when weather was hot. Figured it was a temp problem as light quit when it cooled off. Got new tires last Jan, and have not seen the low tire light since. I am wondering if the pressure going to zero and back up during tire exchange may have reset them??

that I a good report.

I wish I could have gotten that good on my way out here to Colorado. At 13'6" I am too tall to net any real fuel economy.

I don't speed so I would say 60 to 65 it was a twisty road. I always had more power then I needed.

Best mileage came from 45 mph. This was in Wyoming which has a different speed limit for night time.

Just back from my latest run, bobtail to N. Indiana, pick up a 16K fifth wheel from there going to Tulsa, bobtail back to Indiana, picked up a 12K fifth wheel going to Las Cruces NM, bobtail back to El Reno OK, pick up a 14K horse trailer there going to N. Indiana, pick up a 9K travel trailer there going to Katy TX.

Had changed the oil just before leaving, have almost 7K miles this trip so it's almost time to change the oil again!

All in 9 days...

Worst towing fuel economy was 9.5 mpg with the fifth wheel going to NM bucking the wind and hills, best was 13.4 mpg with the horse trailer.

That sounds cool. Stupid question but do you do these runs for a living? That may be the perfect job.

Nope, just do it for fun. Get some really weird looks from people when I hook onto their trailer and drive off with it...

Yes, deliver new travel trailers to the dealers for a living.

Far from a perfect job though, too many idiots out on the road for one thing.

Yes, but you have to deal with them whether your working or driving for pleasure so you may as well make some bucks! I'd agree with sgrol, cool job indeed. One of my favorite parts of camping is towing the rig there and home so it would be right up my alley...
