Leaf spring confusion!

Hello all. I have been reading and I am having a hard time figuring all the leaf spring info out there. I have a 2002 PSD XLT Ex. The front of course sits lower. My bump stops are gone. They were beaten to death. I want to raise the front and rear a little (2-3") and wind up with them being close to level. I am due for some tires soon and I would like to be able to put the biggest tires I can safely run on stock rims. I am thinking 305/70/16, but idk for sure. Maybe I can only pull off 285/75's.

This unit will mainly be used for family trips around the general area we live. I am planning on buying a pontoon boat this spring and will probably take it on 20-100 mile weekend trips. Eventually I'd like to get a decent sized travel trailer when money permits such an acquisition.

I am just trying to figure out which springs I need and where I can get them. It seems like I would be looking for V's in the front and I am not sure for the rear. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You could go with V or X code replacement up front. I know a bunch of other guys will chime in, we sell a lot of both of them. Kinda depends on your personal preference and what you want.

There are tons of posts on spring swaps. If you are looking for used springs off an F250 or F350, you can get V or X code fronts and B (or in my case S) code rears. Make sure you can verify the driver door pillar sticker. It has the codes. There's no way to identify springs that are removed from a truck if you don't have access to the pillar sticker. If you raise the front and back the same amount, you'll maintain the "Ford slant", you'll just be higher overall. I wanted a level truck, which took a bit more work. I had the raise the front an inch or so more than the back overall. I also wanted to get the maximum lift I could get using Ford used springs. I did the "B mod" for the rear springs and added F350 blocks. I used a V code spring in front with 2" lift shackles and Skyjacker add-a-leafs.

All my measurements and components are in my post below. You could figure out what lift you'd get if you removed various components from my install.

BTW, this is roughly accurate science. Each person seems to get slightly different results, so you'll probably want to start with something like a B code rear and a V code front, see what you get, then maybe "mod" the B code, but in doing so you'll probably have to raise the front a bit more. You could try an X up front but some folks say it rides harder than a V code.

Here's my story: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...installed.html
