9in swap

I know there have been several articles 0n 9inch swaps for 1950 F1's. I would just like to know the best years to use for the simplest conversion. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

9" out of a pre-73 F100. Just watch out for the 9 3/8" unit that are in some - looks similar but parts do not interchange.

9" w/a 9 3/8" ring gear has 31 spline axle shafts and Traction-Lok. Will be found in some 1968/72 F100's.

1973: Ford increased the width of the inner frame rails behind the cab from 33 1/2" to 37 1/2" .. this is why you don't want to use a 9" from 1973 and later.

Not to be a smart a$$ Max, but do a site or internet search. Otherwise someone here would have to do it for you and then post links to the same things you can look up.

When you have problems the guys here will help but sometimes these threads are tiring when it has been asked and answered a couple hundred times.

To save Max the trouble: the 9 3/8 carrier's top horizontal rib is curved or "bent" at one end, the 9" is straight.
You find the pictures if you still unsure!
