Staying dry??

Sherm? I heard that Yorkton was pretty wet??
Colin? How about you?
My place in town isn't too bad. Down in the Virden area it's a lot worse. Hope everyone's staying dry.

Hey Dave, parts of Yorkton got it pretty bad, we aren't too bad here on the farm. A couple of roads washed over but still able to get everywhere we need to go. A number of highways are closed due to washouts. Melville is in very bad shape, the hospital had to be evacuated due to the reservoir breaking loose. Theodore Dam is about 2' from overflowing. If that lets go, everything is "F'd"!!!

It`s good to hear that your area is ok Dave, I was wondering how things were there.

I had some water seeping into the basement through the walls & floor, but the power never went out so we were able to stay ahead of it for the most part. Every towel we had went through the dryer about 20 times though lol

Hey Trevor, how'd ya like that storm last night? Wow! There was talk on eBrandon about a funnel cloud on/near Aberdeen, but no confirmation. I'm just west of town and we just got wet and blown around a bit. No damage to my place that i've seen, but will be checking the shingles when I get home from work.....

A few tornado's through sask last night. South east parts most I believe. Some huge hail in places also. We had a good t-storm and a bit of rain. Nothing major right in our yard...

Started gutting our basement yesterday. Its pointless to try and get ahead of the water coming in until the ground water level goes down. Its coming through the cracks in the floor...

That was one hell of a wind!! Power went out for about an hour or so really early Sunday morning. We didn't have any damage here on our part of 13th that I noticed, but up the street near the fair grounds there was either a hydro pole down or a tree down that took the line with it.

There was a lot of damage around Aberdeen yeah, but EC is calling it a straight line wind, not sure if that's the same as a plow wind or not???

Have any of you guys seen the wedding pics making the rounds on facebook with the couple walking down the gravel road, and the tornado in the background??? Pretty damned awesome wedding pics if you ask me!!!

Also, my brother is back on rig west of Carlyle, apparently there wasn't near the rain in that part of SE Sask as compared to farther east. Don't know how many moves they'll get though

Not sure how I missed this

Glad to hear you are staying dry Dave, we missed the heavy rain but, still got a couple of inches so not to bad. We were kind of in a hole as everything seemed to go around us.

Just sold the farm house and it was pretty wet. House was dry, but couldn't get to the house without rubbers.
Nearly got my lawn tractor stuck this afternoon trying to till the shelterbelt out front of the house today. Apparently not as dry as I thought....
Looking forward to some warm, dry weather

We should have the basement back together by Saturday hopefully. Had the one chunk of carpet sitting in the garage since the start of the month, tomorrow after work we're going to put it on the lawn get one last good shot of drying, then put it back down stairs Saturday. If the skeeters don't suck us dry first, holy crap they're bad now. And of course I'm in a damned buffer zone.

Trevor, buffer zone? Really? That sucks. Good to hear you're getting things back together. We had some dampness in the crawlspace, but that's all.

What is meant by the term "buffer zone"?

The city will spray for mosquitoes, but people can request to be in a buffer zone, meaning within 90 metres (not sure if that's radius or frontage) the city will not spray.

Are any of the roads still closed in the areas of SK 35, SK 13, and MB 2? Looking to travel that way on Thursday...
