Auto trans behind flathead

I have a line on an 8BA flattie, and am currently running an AOD transmission. Have done some research but has anyone actually spent the money to bolt one up ? It may turn out that the flathead may not be salvageable but I would like to plan for best case scenario.

C-4's are pretty common behind flatties so it should be possible to put an AOD off a 302 behind one. Hooking up the throttle cable would be the tricky part, I'd guess. Try a google search, somebody on the HAMB or Ford Barn is sure to have tried it.

I'm sure the individual parts are available if you already have the trans.
