AC blows out Defrost
The AC is only blowing out through the defrosters.
To me this sounds like a VAC line is broken or something similar.
Is there any common place on these that are the weak link?

otherwise it defaults to the defrost vents.
with the E series vans, this means that the aux. vacuum pump has
failed, and you have no brakes, which is a good thing to know.
i've had two of those pumps fail.

I haven't had a chance yet to look at the things you guys have suggested. You have given me several things and I will report back as soon as I look.
I assume the vac pump is located on the p side fender well?
I haven't checked to see if its working, can you hear it run?

When you first turn on the key you should hear it. If there's no leak it'll shut off. If you have a leak depending on how big, It'll cycle or run all the time providing the pump isn't bad.

Had a min today before our rain started. Vac pump turns on and stays on, so there is a leak. Now its just a matter of finding it. Can a vac leak also hurt performance like it does on a gas engine truck?

If it runs all the time, unplug the vacum line on the pump and hold your finger over the pump nipple. If it still runs all the time then the pump is bad.
