The Batmobile - '85 F250 XL RCLB 4x4 IDI NA T19 3.55s. ?53,xxx miles (153,xxx? ). 50,xxx on a Dealers Diesel rebuild. Rattle-can black, PO never buffed it. Porno red interior (truck had been red), door interior panels were literally disintegrating from sun exposure. Mismatched blue bench seat from a bricknose.
^^^^^ The day after we bought it. Had nearly bald 285/75s on steelies. Truck was used strictly on the farm from aprx. 1992. LOTS of body rust, including the cab floor. NO rust on the frame, or the core support, or hangers/perches/shackles. Most of the underside of the truck had a 1/4" coating of dirt. Door and window seals were shot, driver's side window division bar was rusting away. LOTS of rattles. No keys (kept a wing window unlatched in case we accidentally hit both door locks), column cylinder just turns. Cleaned out the ashtray (BLEEEEEEEECK!!!) the other day, and there was a door key under ALL the ashes. Prob. forgotten there 20+ years ago. Locks work like new.
^^^^^ $30 topper, $160 rims, new Cooper STs. Still has the DMI sway-hitch bumper. We're just gonna leave the, er... "matte" finish.
Found water in the cab, WTF? Wet around the kick panels, toward the firewall. Cowl seal didn't look bad. Reached down the air spaces on either side inside the fenders (my wife has long skinny arms) and IIICK! they're both full of mud! Right up to where the sliding-panel vents feed from those spaces. So water coming in the cowl had nowhere to go but through the vents and into the cab. Another legacy of it being a field truck for 20+ years.
Nice truck! That came out pretty nice for a rattle can job, tell me how you did it if you could bc im doing the same thing, had to laugh when you said the porno red interior hahaha

Sorry, we bought the truck that way, and I no longer have the PO's contact info. He did say we could buff it out, but the Mad Max look is growing on us....

Your paint looks just like the paint on my truck. I tried everything from 1200 to 2000 grit paper, rubbing compound, glaze cutter, and wax. It took the gravel texture off, but it still won't shine. Hope you have better luck.
Yup, 69 F250 running a 7.3IDI and a ZF 5speed. The 6-71 in the back was on it's way to a new owner, about 200miles away. I had to load it funny because the steering linkage and oil pan get a little friendly when the suspension is compressed, but it still went just fine and could even run 70 with that load.
I'd love to put a 6.9 in my 69, an IDI in a Bumpside would be perfect!
Probably never happen though.
