Biggest tire for stock 18" wheel

I know it's been addressed a bunch of times but I'm trying to find the tallest tire I can put on my 2098 f250 4x4. For some reason it sits pretty high already. It doesn't have any suspension mods. I really want the nitto trail grapplers. I read that the size 35x12.50r18 Fits but a few people say the width is not good for the stock wheel. I'm not towing with it and will rarely take it off road. I just want a nice truck lol. Can someone please shed some light on this? Thanks!

I've been told the same thing, I have 325/65/18's, on an older body style truck. They were on there when I bought the truck. Gives the truck a nice stance. When it is time for new tires I think I will go down a size or two in width.

I have 295/70R18 (aka 35x11.50R18) Nitto Terra Grapplers on my stock 18 inch wheels. I think they are a perfect fit, and probably wouldn't want to go any wider on stock wheels.

+4" to +4.5" is a rough max for section width over rim width in normal sized LT tires, with higher profile tires being able to go wider with less deformation in the tread block. 305mm is probably the widest I'd go on stock wheels, but 325mm (~12.5") is the max that I would guess shops would be willing to mount on an 8" wide rim. I ran 295/70R18s without any issues.
