Is it OK to stack the factory 2" blocks on top of 4" blocks on the rear axle? The factory blocks have the bump stop pads on them and the 4" blocks do not. I was looking at a friends truck and he said FORD did the lift and it had the blocks stacked.
It is certainly not ok in most situations, i mean its probably "ok" if everything is torqued properly and the truck never accelerates hard or goes offroad...but i still wouldn't take the chances. Plenty of options for a 6" block out there, including some models (OUO and PMF) that incorporate the u bolt through the block so it can't be spit out

Totally agree, better to do it right the first time and have a safe ride..
Sure you can stack the blocks however it will increase axle wrap which can make for problems like shaking on acceleration, jitters or shakes while just crusing and the same while braking. It can be improved with something like radius rods or ladder bars or the like.
Personally I wouldn't do it, I would save the money and get actual springs.
I never recommend stacking blocks. However you will find stacked blocks on my rear axle...
It came from the previous owner like that. Its just a small 1" block on the factory block. I've thought about replacing it, and eventually I will. But every time I check on them they are fine so I usually forget about it and go about my day.
