Reset door code - factory code no workie
Reset door code - factory code no workie
As title says - I have the factory code. Both the card and pulled the fusebox cover and matched from the module. However, when I enter it, I get nothing. Doesn't click, unlock, nothing. I've tried to enter it and push the 1/2 button and enter a new code which also does nothing.
When I push the 7/8 9/0 buttons it does lock so obviously the keypad is working and has power. I have also tried erasing any previously set codes and it does nothing.
Any ideas? What could I be doing wrong? I have searched but everything I'm finding is what I'm already doing.
Oh, it's a 2003 F250 extended cab for what that's worth
Thanks!

My local dealer, with a straight face, quoted $98 to get the code out of the computer. That made me so mad, I decided to find out how to do it myself and tell as many people as I can how they can do it as well. I'm not a Ford mechanic, but I have a 2004 F-350 and I can tell you how I did it. The RAP module was mounted on the fire wall behind the radio. I suspect the easiest way to read the code is to remove the radio. If you can't get it out, remove thefuse panel located below the steering column. With a bright flashlight look to the right and up behind the radio and you should see at least part of a large white label. It will have a large bar code on it as well as the words "Canada" and "FCC" among other stuff. The factory code is the bold five digit number located to one side. This was not easy to see. I had to reach up under the panel and push a wiring loom out of the way while my wife looked for the number, but it was easily worth $98.
Make sure when pressing the controls on the keyless entry keypad you press the middle of the buttons to ensure good contact with the controls.

Your personal code does not replace the factory-set code. You can use either code to unlock your vehicle. Each time you set a new personal code the module will erase the previous one in favor of the new code. The factory-set code can not be erased.

2. Press and hold 7/8 control.
3. Press and release 3/4 control while holding 7/8 control.

Well, I bought keyfobs on ebay thinking maybe they would work since the keypad doesn't. They do - sort of. They will always lock but to unlock, I have to push the lock button repeatedly until the horn honks, then push unlock. I think there's an issue with the receiver for the codes. Is that possible? I assume it's the module under the dash? Can that be replaced?
Thanks
Thanks
you have the same one as me, there is a key fob battery inside the door panel. From the factory they are sealed but you can easily pop the gasket and replace the battery. Problem is the battery is special and i found mine on a website that sells batteries for like six bucks a piece, i did this BUT water got into mine like ever one ive ever seen and it still wont work...... so i just use the key fob or the tried and trued method key in the door handle lock
