2005 F350 6.0L 92K miles I recently had FICM replaced (in last month) at dealership, and now seems to have a fuel pressure issue. When FICM was changed, had shop drain tank down to ensure pick-up tube had not fallen off. Sometimes truck will not start, tries but seems to be starving for fuel. Sounds like pump is not pressuring system. Also, truck seems to lunge at idle with RPMs varying from 400 to 1100 with pedal not touched. Seems to run fine down the highway. New filter/water separator installed day prior to FICM replacement. Any suggestions or assistance will be greatly appreciated.
First, suggest you get fuel pressure test gauge. The test port is on the bottom of the engine compartment fuel filter. With the 6.0 fuel system, it is almost a must have.
Next, dittos on what 9228.bobcat suggested.
Finally, I would make sure the FICM connectors are seated all the way and the FICM wire harness ground wire is connected to the intake manifold. Putting a LITTLE dielectric grease on the FICM connectors will make them seat easier.
