Mulling some ideas

Still looking for the turnkey driver I want in the 10k range, but am still not certain that I can let the 66 go, its just grown on me.

Tomorrow Im going to get some "ballpark" guesstimates on paint and body work.

Have found a really nice 71 Ranchero that is just sexy enough to own and at the right price, local too so no traveling to find out I don't want it.

Opinions on the one piece fiberglass front end for a 66 F100. Ive seen a few pics of them but don't know about fit and finish. Are they suitable for a DD? I figure that by the time I locate a suitable core support, disassemble everything, sandblast, bodywork, paint and reassemble, the fiberglass front end with install, prep and paint will run about the same money.

My inside bed has very minor rust, is solid but wavy. A 88-92 Chevy bedliner will hide that, or Im ok with leaving it as is, it is a truck and I will continue to use it as a truck. If I want to fix it, whats the best option?

Inspect very closely before buying any Ranchero as many are rust buckets and much of the rust is hidden from view.

1960/71 Ranchero's are unit-bodied, below its bed pan is the station wagons floor pan that contains the 2nd seat foot and seat wells and spare tire well.

Ford used caulk between the Ranchero's bed pan and front/side panels. The caulk chips off, water seeps in...has no place to go because there are no drain holes, so rust begins.
