Question Upgrades

Just purchased a new 2014 F150 FX4 and my question is; what upgrades would you recommend for upgrades (any links will much appreciated) . I'm thinking a performance chip (ie- Superchips), K&N air filter and others related the efficient running of the truck.

Have a read through some of the threads on here, use the search feature. K&N filters are not very popular because they let more dirt into your engine.
Chips and tuners, you'll get a lot of opinions. Five Star tuning has a good reputations around here, but many people wait until their warranty expires before they mess with the tune.

Enjoy your truck, and please post some pics.

I just spoke with the service manager where I purchased the truck and THEY will void the warranty if they find out I have been using a re-programmer SO much for that idea.
As for the K&N; what would you consider for air filtration: or is the stock a/f good enough?

One of the many good things I've learned from this forum is: don't over think and
overspend on these issues.

The Ford Oil and Air Filter work just fine. And most people find their engine works
just fine the way it came out of the factory. Of course, some of us are boring
type folks who are happy driving a great truck being just the way it is.

For me, the stock paper air filters are more than "good enough" they are better than the K&N. When clean, the flow is fine, the filtration is great, and no risk of over-oiling and fouling the sensors downstream.

Thanks for you input, I'm going to stay with stock stuff for the duration of the warranty period. The only upgrade I'll consider when the time comes is better tires. Any ideas on quality on/off road tires?

There are several threads on that topic as well. Many people swear by the Michelin tires. I've had great luck with the Goodyear Silentarmor tires, which is now called the Adventure I believe.
You should add your location to your profile so people can give you specific advice about snow/ice/sand or whatever your local conditions are.

Thanks for the pointers, I updated my profile to reflect my location. I was wondering about the Goodyear Silent Armor tires' new name.

I see you are in winnipeg. I usually buy my tires in the fall when fountain tire has the 4-for-3 sale on. There is occasionally some fine print, or some tire models excluded, but if the tire you want is part of the sale, that's often the best price you'll find.

Another option for you is to call around in Grand forks or whatever other American city is closest to you. Even with the current exchange rate, somewhere like les schwab might be able to beat the local prices.

Goodyear has a confusing naming system for thier tires, but the "Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure with Kevlar" is the one I'm talking about. I have heard good reviews about that one, even on snow and ice. Should have decent dry highway manners too.
Some people love the duratrac, but I've heard mixed reviews about them in cold weather.
