I have the Banks 4" and it was a tight fit. It helps to have someone above and someone below. I think the transmission dipstick was in the way a bit. I did not have to unbolt it though. I was expecting a bigger problem so in the end it seemed pretty easy.

Thanks for the quick reply. You didn't have to make any custom dents to get past the exhaust pipes? Didnt look at the Banks model yet, is the cat part of the install?

I did not have to make any modifications to the downpipe at all. The Banks system makes you keep the catalytic converter - you have to saw it off and then clamp in onto their pipes. The Banks is pricy and probably not worth the premium at all. I really did not know much when I bought it - I just wanted really good directions (which the Banks comes with). I think the other 4" in exhausts are very similar. MRBP seems to be the most popular on FTE

You'll hate the 4" downpipe. 3.5 is all you need for a stock turbo. I've never had EGT issues with 3.5.

I thought that was the whole point, sounds like a jet on takeoff. And the turbo vanes cycling is absolutely b@d@ss.

He's referring to a 4" exhaust system that has a 3.5" downpipe for ease of installation, among other reasons

The exhaust side of the turbo makes the whistle and the 10 vane turbos are the loudest. I've been running what is basically a powermax for the past 8 years and never had an issue due to exhaust size. The 4" downpipes are a PIA to fit and work with when you have to do repairs. I even had to replace a transmission dipstick tube on one truck because of the exhaust rubbing through. Never had an issue on my truck with the Magnaflow 3.5" downpipe to 4" out the back and spool has always been good.
