Wanted to say hello. Just picked up a 65 F100 LWB. Shes a plain Jane work/shop truck. Originally from Az. 352, 4speed n435. Manual steering and brakes. Going to be a driver, with just some basic updates. Want to keep her like she's always been.
Looking forward to working on it and putting some miles on it! It's going to be tough to not strip it down and do a complete frame off. But looking forward to not having to worry about scratching paint and all that goes with a big money resto
Welcome Jblack,
Good to see there are still some out there who appreciate an old Ford truck for what it is. I'll take my daily driver over a trailer queen resto-mod any day.
Arizona weather is kind to old cars and trucks. Bet you have a nice one.
Lots of good people here. Lots of good knowledge. Have fun.
Here she is. the wife came up with the name.."Betty" as in Betty White. Figured she's old, a handful to drive, and a hell of a lot of fun
since I've owned her (about 3 weeks) she got new tires, clutch, and new seat upolstery. In the wings are a new headliner, floor mat, some various rubber seals that came with it, and the dreaded exhaust manifold gaskets!
Yeah, it's a pretty solid truck. The pass side is the worst because of the crease in the bed. Here's the other side, and the new seat cover I installed.
I see your from Michigan in your profile, with the way they salt roads I'm surprised it survived so well. Each of the states have their own chapter her is the link to the Michigan Chapter....Michigan Chapter - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums
You'll find that they are very helpful when it comes to answering questions, or you need someone to take a look at something. If your not getting the answers from Michigan Chapter, drop into the Oregon Chapter. There are several members with 61-66 trucks. As for your parts question we have one of the best resources for that. Our resident parts man is Bill (NumberDummy) an valuable source for anything related to Ford parts as he was a Ford Parts Manager in California.
