my f150s service engine light came on while towing a loaded trailer.i got home and started trouble shooting since it threw code for #8.i swapped out coil pack with #6 and still same code.i swapped out the spark plug as well, still same code.i tested to see if it was firing to the fuel injector and that was fine.i put a injector additive to tank and used seafoam through throttle body, still same thing.im wondering if i should swap out injector,if it still happens whats the possible issue?any help would be nice.thank you
You have an ELECTRICAL fault with the #8 coil. There is no need to be screwing with the other stuff.
Check the #8 COP connector. Verify that VPWR is present at the #8 COP connector. Check the wiring harness for the #8 COP back to the PCM, checking any and all connectors for corrosion or physical damage. Check the #8 COP line for shorts to VPWR or ground. If all that checks out, your PCM has probably failed internally.
