These wheel covers came on the 8-lug 16.5" wheels, but not for the 4x4's, so that is why you have to cut the centers out of them.
It's strictly if you like the look of these on your truck and don't really care about what is technically "correct". I think they look old school awesome!
Also, I love the white wheels shown instead of painting them argent silver, especially with your color combo!
Those do look good! And most of the stock 16.5's I've seen were that Wimbledon White...I don't know if I've ever come across the 16.5's with original argent silver paint.
The large hub highboy front axle have very few choices as far as wheel covers go .. The f100 and f150 4x4 had more choices because the front axle hub was smaller than the highboys ..

Are the 16.5"s the ones that are split and shops don't like to mount tires on them cause they come apart?
@twinzilla
kissimmee florida. How about you?
Yes there were split rim 16.5's steelies and also regular .. You should have no problem locating the 16.5's regulars locally if you can't I'm sure I have a set at the shop somewhere .. If it were me I would take whatever set showed up 1st in decent shape 16's or 16.5's and take it as a sign
Here are some photos of the new take-off 16x7 Econoline steelies. As said previously, the only downside is there are no lugs for the stainless steel hubcaps if you are so inclined...
The selection of tires available for 16.5 rims is a bit limited these days so if I were you, I would hold out for a set of 16 inch rims.
hey westcoast those are awesome! Where did you get them?
I bought them off a guy on Craigslist a while back for $100.00 the set. They were brand new take offs from an Econoline and they seem to turn up pretty regularly on Craigslist up here.
As far as I know all Econolines up to present day still use the same bolt pattern vs F series which went to metric sized rims back in 1999.
Check your local want ads or even junk yards as there are lots of Econolines out there.
The truth is hub caps are the first casualty when you go off road and as long as you cover the threads of the stud with some nice lug nuts like Westcoast has you've accomplished the only practical reason for having caps .. There are several votes for 16's so far for a good reasons ..
