My 1979 F 150. Got her just before Christmas. Haven't tackled much on the body yet, but I've restored about 90% of the engine bay and inside.

I'm seriously considering keeping the Alpine. They were the stuff back in the day. Just kind of adds to the nostalgia.
The steering wheel is a Grant 838 classic. Some people don't like this particular model but it reminds me of my dad. In fact, when I was looking at a Youtube video of steering wheel installation the guy was replacing a Grant 838 (or POS as he called it!) with something else. Haha!
It was about $70 for the wheel and kit on Ebay. It used the Grant 3249 installation kit.
I still need to get the headliner made and put in, the dome light replaced, the visors painted and reinstalled and the back half of the cab covered with carpet. Plenty of 6 pack projects to last me this summer.

Yea, for sure keep that alpine. You can tie in your smartphone into the stereo system speakers with a pac module(they are like $40 and that way you can stream through Bluetooth from your phone for Pandora, calls, gps, maps, etc..and still keep that classic look of the alpine.
Thanks for the info on steering wheel. I'm going to look that up tonight. I need a new steering wheel for sure. Mine actually has been hacked completely through for some reason and it catches on my hand every once in a while. Anything social about the install. I assume I need a steering wheel puller.

Brother, that is one great looking truck. Brown imo is not that great a color on vehicles but it looks freaking great on your truck with all the chrome wheels, pipes, etc..

Steering wheel puller; prop knees behind wheel, press off. At least it worked for me.
