I was driving the other day and my pedal fell to the floor. I found that the bracket which allows the pedal to pivot/bolts the metal rod to the inside of the firewall had broke (this is the bracket which has the accelerator rod run through had broke)
Does anyone know what replacement options I would have for this?
The part number was C7TZ9725N. Obsolete and none shown on my locators. Time to go JY hunting. It fit:
1967 F100/350.......352
1968 to 1972 F100/350 Before ser #P60,001...360 & 390
1969 to 1972 F100 Before ser #P60.001....302
It can be replaced with one from a dentside. They use a cable to the carb instead of the linkage that the bumps use, Seems to work a little better.I have done this on a couple trucks. I think that I may have one of the originals somewhere but since I don't know how close you are to me I don't know if it would be worthwhile for me to go look for it.
Orich, is this a lubrication point that almost all of us have ignored?
John it would not hurt to hit them with say some wd-40 those whitest looking bushing are some type of plastic that get warn and sloppy. I think then when they get pushed down they kind of get cocked and people push harder then break the cast light weight type pot metal.
I don't see any way of replacing those plastic bushing tho.
I guess a guy could rig up some type of replacement if he had no other means of getting one from the PnP..
I made my weekly PnP rounds today and came across two bumps checked the throttle linkage thinking maybe I should get a spare one for just safe keeping. One was not much good & checked #2 truck and found one in great condition so got that as mind has been changed out a few time when I find one better then my old one..

The replacement part was that the whole accelerator pedal/rod and the pot metal bracket all one piece? I modified my stock pedal to match my engine swap and it didn't look like it could be replaced without cutting the rod and sliding the bracket off. Or straightening the pedal rod. I think it was my charger that has a similar setup. But that one I could slide the bushing out and it gave enough of a hole opening to allow me to slide the bracket around the rod and slide it off and replace the bushings.
Oh one thing I've found is the length of the accelerator rod end that goes through the fire wall and hooks up to the carb linkage. Some are different lengths. As the first time, I replaced mind with one from PnP.
So make sure you get one the same length as yours is.
^ good to know that bit of information. I'm sure that will help others save another trip to the Pnp when they see this thread later down the road when they need a new pedal.

I think that might have been one for a 300 Ig Rich. You prolly pulled one from a truck where the motor was already yanked.
I will have to take a picture of the linkage on my 68,,, who in the heck came up with that whole ugly *******ized mess of crap?!?! The stuff under the hood I am talking about, like three rods with linkage and bracket and yuck.
