Brake Issues
Guys,
08 250 the drivers rear froze up today on my way into work .
My question is, should i get a new caliper? i seen some people say to flush the fluid and it will fix it? my 05 went through about 6 calipers, i was hoping the 08 wouldn't do this too.
or do you think i can just pull the pins and put anti seize on it and they will be ok?
Thanks
Chad

If it's the pins that are seized that will fix it. I lube pins and brake pad retaining hardware twice a year when I rotate my tires.
Most likely it's the piston that's seized in the caliper itself. I've never had any luck freeing a seized piston and have it work for any length of time. Your best bet is to replace the caliper. I'd prob do both rear calipers at the same time. Same thing happened to my truck last year, drivers side went, only replaced that caliper and went about my business . Not to long later the passenger caliper seized so I was right back under truck doing that one. I also flushed fresh brake fluid in to make sure that the cause wasn't moisture in old fluid.
