Been messing with my 97 for sometime now with maybe some luck. When you hit the gas it takes from idle to 2000 rpm's about 8 seconds. From 2000 to red line about 1 sec, like u flipped a switch. Been through all kinds of stuff and the only thing I come up with is the map. Unplugged she screams and runs like it always had. So I bought a new map and it runs exactly like it did with the old map. I now have a AE if some body has any ideas for me to check. Thanks.
I checked the map line and its not cracked or plugged. What AE drop down do I need to watch the map. Seems like there was a few different ones for map sensor. Thanks. I'm building a leak detector to try that this weekend..
I'm not familiar with AE because I've never used it. But the MAP sensor only outputs one value, which is in the form of varying voltage or frequency depending on what year your truck is. The computer then changes that to a pressure reading. Depending on the software, it will either output a gauge pressure or absolute pressure. Gauge pressure is absolute pressure with ambient pressure subtracted, i.e., what your boost gauge would read.
Just give us either value, it will be obvious what we're looking at.
