old campbell hausfeld air compressor

I just recently acquired my dads old Campbell hausfeld air compressor. he bought it new 25-30 years ago. its 5hp, 230 volt, and 60gl, but that's about all I know about it. He and a friend of his took apart the compressor pump a few years ago, and never put it back together, meaning they lost the parts. I have tried to look up the model number on line and as of so far have found nothing about it. I guess my questions are, can anyone tell me what the cfm ratings are, where would I find the parts to fix it, or is it even worth fixing. The model number is VT-6005. Any info on the compressor is appreciated.

Check the tank before you spend any money. If it's rusted, save yourself the trouble.....

I doubt you are going to find repair parts for that thing. A rule of thumb for air compressor capacity is4.5 CFM per horsepower. So a 5 HP compressor will deliver about22.5 CFM. This only applies to honest to goodness American made air compressors, not Chinese junk. A 5 peak HP compressor will only make about 13 cfm.

I didn't think I was going to find many parts available for the old girl but I thought maybe If there was a chance of finding them it would be worth it. Thank you for the responses, It really is a moot point now though since most of my tools were destroyed or are missing now. We were hit by a tornado last Wednesday. The truck, 69 F250, it still there with alot more work to be done on it than I had planned on doing before. Won't know how bad it is until I can get the rest of the garage off of it. The main part of the house was somewhat spared. The roof was torn off and ceiling caved in on the living room, and all the electronics are fried from the power surge. We feel pretty lucky cause this thing hit alot of people, close to 50 homes, and we were no where near the hardest hit, several homes are completely gone including two of my neighbors. We rented the house from my great aunt and their Insurance adjuster told them to tear it down to the foundation and start over, ours is coming today not expecting it to go well.

Man, that sucks. Hopefully you get enough to get things taken care of.

or

Campbell Hausfeld | Cincinnati, Ohio

Just checked, I've got a VT2326 made in 1991. In the years I've had it , I had to replace a check valve and compressor valves, and the electric 220v motor. Got all my parts from C-H
