I need help with a power steering problem. I have power steering fluid spewing out the vent hole in the cap. I have a new power steering pump and cap, I have also replace both hoses. the only thing that is not new is the gear box. The fluid is at the right level also, it is not too full.
I have a 1987 f250 4x4 with a 351w, auto-trans.
Thanks for any help or suggestions.
Either that or he has it filled and never jacked up the front with the motor off and turn the wheel lock stop to stop a couple times to help bleed the fluid into the gear itself so when he starts it up now its trying to force that big air bubble out under pressure. Just a thought.
@mike1, no I did not cross the lines, it is impossible to cross the lines anyway.
@steelhorse4x4, thanks for the suggestion. I flushed the system and bleed the air out before I even started it.
Looks like I will be replacing the gearbox tomorrow.
