smog pump remove
ok i live in a county that has no emitions checks.can i just take the smog pump of and remove the guts ..then put it back on ..will it helpmt hp at all ..do i have to diconect any thing else....? thanks for the info in advance

Just a thought. Some jurisdictions require you to have all original equipment even though they do not have emissions inspections. You might want to check with a local inspection station.

Here in south texas, they rarely check under the hood, and just about every old bronco I have looked at has already had its smog pump removed.
Just plug any hoses or fitting that have lines from the pump.
You don't gain any noticable horses from the removal, but you do gain a cleaner more accessible engine compartment.
Oh yea, smaller belt.
