I'm sure you did. That's the problem with so many people today, they perceive a problem and then latch onto whatever supposed "fix" for the problem fits their personal prejudices. Never mind objective facts that show what they think is the source of the problem is not.

I guess my 102,000+ miles with an intact and legal emissions system and no fuel dilution of any consequence must not be real. Nor the enormous number of other such properly maintained and operated 6.4 engines on the road.

Are there problems with some 6.4s that are a function of failures in the emissions system, of course. There are also problems with 6.4s that are a result of the operators not understanding the requirements of the emissions controlled diesels which differ significantly from the old generation diesels.

Poor understanding, application or maintenance of *any* of the modern emissions controlled diesels can make them go bad fast. Operated, applied and maintained properly they are very reliable.

I am very objective i have been around here for awhile and facts are facts the emissions on the 6.4 are problematic and require special consideration if you plan to get any mileage out of them, and when they do break better plan on digging deep in the pocket book unless your lucky enough to have purchased the ESP, do some research check some forums talk to some service techs, i am not saying your 6.4 is a lone wolf.........im saying the majority of the 6.4s on the road have experienced these issues at some time or another and the only argument i have with anything you have stated is the emissions on these engine are not virtually problem free as you have stated and to state that is misleading to any reading this information!

I fully understand how the emissions work on these trucks....Maybe you don't? You assumed I didn't. I'm glad your truck has been problem free and never have to interrupt a regen or idle for periods of time, or what have you...
If you think the process in which a regen is accomplished isn't detrimental to the engine and its components long term reliability then I dunno what to say.
I felt much more comfortable removing the system on my 40k km truck (problem free then & now) then taking my chances with it in place.
That's my choice and doesn't mean I "latched on" to a perceived problem....Come on man...
